ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMINDERS
May 28, 2010
NO SCHOOL
There will be no school on Monday, May 31st. We will be closed for Memorial Day. There will be no Boys & Girls Club on this day.
FLAG CEREMONY / AWARDS
Our annual Flag Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd. Mass will be at 8:00am followed by a short awards ceremony in the church. Awards for the Accelerated Reader Program, Athletics, and Poetry contest will be announced. The Flag Ceremony will begin at approximately 9:15am at the CHURCH flag pole. Parents are encouraged to join us.

FIELD DAY
Field Day will be Friday, June 4th. Events will begin at 12:25pm after a picnic lunch. Students
should come to school dressed in their PE uniform. Sunscreen is a good idea but needs to be applied
at home. Teachers are unable to apply sunscreen. Some of the field day events involve water
(water balloons). Any hats, water bottles or towels should be labeled with the student’s name. Parents
are encouraged to join us. Don’t forget your cameras!

CONTEMPORARY MASS
There will be a contemporary Mass on Sunday, June 13th at 5:00pm. Come out and support the band led by Kevin Porterfield (PE teacher) on guitar and vocals, Fr. Bill Waun (science teacher) playing bass, John Germain (Art teacher’s husband) on drums, Frank Wilcox (parent) on lead guitar, and Curtis Wilcox (7th grade) playing the sax. The band starts playing at 4:45pm, so come out and show your support!

YEARBOOK
If you have photos of events that took place during the 2009-2010 school year, please consider
sharing them with the Yearbook Committee. We are looking for photos of students from Catholic
Schools Week, First Communion, Athletic events, Christmas Concert etc. Pictures including
multiple students or groups are preferred. Please e-mail photos to Friars1@ec.rr.com. Additional
information and order forms will be coming home soon.
2010-2011 REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2010-2011 school year is progressing nicely. Our numbers are already ahead of this time last year. Just a reminder that classes fill on a first come first served basis. Historically, we see a surge in enrollment in early June. When the classes are full, we will run a waiting list until we have enough students to open a second class. Please return your re-enrollment paperwork and fee soon to ensure your student has a spot in the classroom.
