Meeting of Monday, November 23, 2009

The meeting
began with a prayer led by Fr. Ernest.
v
Jen Schiller,
Chairman, and Myra Marks, IOP Principal, welcomed the group. Jen Schiller distributed notebooks containing the IOP school calendar booklet. These notebooks are for organizing the
various handouts that members will be receiving at this and future
meetings. Members introduced themselves.
v
The constitution and by-laws were distributed for
review. Jen Schiller led a discussion on these and noted
suggestions/revisions from the members.
The constitution and by-laws will be placed on the school’s website for
review and input from parents.

Jacki Butler,
President of the Home & School Association of Infant of Prague, Home School
Association, shared a copy of the
recommended constitution and bylaws of the HSA with the council members.
v
Carol Connelly
and Myra Marks shared the 8 goals of the
school for the 2009/2010 school year.
Carol also shared how the development of the goals was related to survey
results. Mrs. Marks related that the
next AdvancED accreditation visit would occur in the Fall of 2011.
v
The Public
Relations Committee plans on presenting some ideas at the next meeting on
promoting the school. Specifically, we
are looking for ideas to prevent attrition of middle school students.
v
Meetings have
been set for the 1st Monday of each month, with the exception of the
April 5th meeting which has been changed to Monday, April 12th.
v
Our
next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the
school media center.
